REPORT DAY 4:

A light E to SE wind with possible rain coming in by 4pm as the front came back Westerly over us was the forecast. Corndon was the chosen site and pilots were sent up the hill early with a view to setting a task as quickly as possible before the weather deteriorated. A task was set to Caersws and back to Bishop's Castle but the actual conditions at launch were very light to nil wind with total overcast and no sign of thermal activity. The rain never materialised and later in the day, pilots started dribbling off for extended top to bottoms with best height gains of only a couple of hundred feet. A rather disappointing day.

From Skywings!

This had originally been forecast to be a good day but in the morning the forecast was for a cold front that had gone through to return the other way as a warm front and give rain for most of the afternoon. With a light easterly forecast we went to
Corndon, more in desperation than expectation. Although it was grey when we arrived it did brighten up for a while. A 60km task was set, west to Llandinam then back east to Bishop's Castle.
By the time the launch window opened the sun was gone and the sky was looking uninspiring again. With very little wind no-one was keen to launch despite a TV
crew in attendance. Eventually the sky brightened a bit and a few birds were going up, so people started lobbing off . Some managed to gain a few hundred feet and stay up for 20 minutes or so but no one got away. The forecast rain didn't materialise.
